Sunrise Beach Tower

Selling a tower that doesn't exist yet means making it desirable as well as credible. The series was therefore conceived as a play of scales: the view from the sea, waist-deep in the water, to place the project against the beach; the frontal framing of the retail podium and its busy forecourt; the angle from the coast road; and the close view high above the ocean, at the level of the upper terraces. Each image called for its own tropical light and its own cast — swimmers, surfers, passers-by, residents leaning on their balconies, a jet ski and a sailing boat offshore — to establish the atmosphere of a seaside destination in full swing.

The tower rises through some fifteen residential levels, structured by wide white cantilevered slabs that run the full width of the façade and carve out deep terraces. Between them, full-height glazing and glass balustrades keep the view open, while vertical timber screens warm the corners. Every terrace has its planters — palms, bananas, trailing foliage — so greenery runs the whole height of the building. At the top, a penthouse sheltered beneath a broad white canopy opens onto an infinity pool suspended above the horizon.

At the base, a two-level retail podium holds shops and brands behind wide display windows, extended by a dining terrace shaded with parasols and woven cabanas. Above it, a leisure deck with pool, loungers and pergolas separates the mall from the apartments. All around: palms, lawns, and the pale sand beach a few steps away.

The care went to the thinness of the slabs and the shadows they cast, to the reflections in the glass and the clarity of the water, to the texture of timber and pale render, and to the density of the planting. Crisp full sun, deep blue sky and turquoise sea, for a bright, coastal, lively mood.
